So, my precious Mimi, who is 90 years old, lost her 3-stone diamond ring a few weeks ago. Now, this wasn't just any ring. While it does hold monetary value, it is far higher in sentimental value than you could ever imagine. You see, my Papa passed away a few years ago, and my Mimi has been the absolute definition of AMAZING. Well, honestly, she always has been. Papa is one of those rare stories you hear of someone accepting Christ WELL into their life. He became a christian around the age of 85! Then you have Mimi, who wakes up every single morning at 5 am to do her bible study, leads church groups in her home, goes to water aerobics... and prayed for Papa's salvation night and day for most of her life. I am giving you WAY too much background info, but I feel its important for the emotional affect of the story.
Back to the ring.
Papa was a bomber pilot in WW2, and while he was in Germany, he bought 3 loose diamond stones. Then, after he came home safe and sound, he designed this ring for Mimi made up of the 3 stones. It is a beautiful ring that is very eye-catching simply because it is so different. The diamonds are mounted vertically on her finger instead of the normal horizontal placement. So, she has worn this ring, everyday, all day long for the past... oh....60 years?! She never takes it off.
That being said, fast-forward to a few weeks ago. My parents drive to Huntsville to take Mimi, and my dad's parents out for a night on the town! They had a lovely time. :) The next morning, Mimi wakes up, does her bible study, makes home-made bread, and realizes her ring is missing! Now here is where I'll save you some reading. The first thing my entire family does is P-R-A-Y. This ring has been raised so high in prayer I'm sure the Lord has touched it! :) Then we look at the restaurant they went to the night before, in the restaurant TRASH, through all of Mimi's baked bread, in her house, on the floor, in the potty, behind her bed, in the pool at water aerobics...... I could go on and on and on... nothing. She put an add in the classifieds...nothing. Yet, everyone has continued to pray that it would just show up somewhere. And it did. :)
Mom and dad drove to Huntsville again today, mom said she just felt the Lord was telling her to look outside... maybe Mimi had lost it while watering the plants out front. So, over they go- dad is searching on the ground, in the grass and leaves for half and hour... mom is looking all up and down the driveway. Then, she just starts to walk to the mailbox. Mimi checks the mail everyday, right? She gets there, looks down, and this is what she sees....

Still can't see it? Here is a closer look... its in the middle of the two leaves. :):):)

I truly think there aren't words for a situation such as this. My Mimi is, well, estatic of course, but also, at peace. Praise the Lord! We give Him all the credit and know He was teaching each of us a valuable lesson through this. What He's telling me?..... "My timing is perfect, always".

Thanks so much for reading and letting me share!! :)

Katie,
This is truly the power of prayer! When I heard the story it brought tears to my eyes, and when I read your story i cried even more! I read it to my boss at work and he loved it. He said "WOW, she is a great writer!" He asked what your major was at A&M and I didn't know!! What was it? lol. Cole said he had a blast at the party. He said it was "COOL". Let me know when yall are coming for a visit! Love you,
