I know this post is a little late, seeing as though my precious little girl is now 3 weeks old! I need to get on the ball! I wanted to write her birth story down so I don't forget it... not that I would, you'll see what I mean.. (*a word of warning, this is L ----O----N-----G, God bless you for even attempting to read this!) :)

Since we are so incredibly blessed to have both of our families living in town, scheduling Christmas time with everyone gets a bit hectic. Fun, but crazy! Anyway, we decided to have our own little Christmas on the 23rd- just me, Jordan, and the kiddos. We started the big night early with eating dinner and making cookies for Santa- and then we were obviously thirsty, so we washed it all down with hot chocolate! :)
Jordan read everyone the Christmas Story and we said a sweet prayer before "diving into the presents" (as Riley and Jace put it)! :) It was a super fun time and the kids were just precious opening their gifts. We took Riley and Jace to Target about a week before Christmas and let them pick out a gift to give each other- it had to be around $5 and they had to use their own money they had earned. They LOVED doing this and picked out the cutest things!
Little did I know that in a few short hours, I would go from HERE...
To HERE!!!
Basically, after we finished opening presents, I went and laid down on the bed because I wasn't feeling so good. From then on, I starting having contractions. Now, I had never gone in to labor before, (I had planned c-sections for my other kiddos because sweet Riley girl was breech!), so really I didn't know what contractions felt like. And what I was feeling wasn't really painful, just tight and uncomfortable. So, I just rolled with it... I told Jordan how I felt, we both said "hmmm", and then went to bed. Around 11pm, I told myself that if I had another contraction, I would just go to the hospital and check it out. Even though I was sure it was false labor, I would rather be safe than sorry, and I convinced myself that MANY pregnant women go to the hospital thinking they are in labor and are not- so they wouldn't call me crazy. Sure enough, the contractions kept coming, so off we went to the hospital.
(*Let me just note that NEITHER my husband or my mother thought I needed to go... and since I have nothing nice to say, that's all I'll say about that).

So, we checked in to the hospital just after midnight on Christmas Eve, and the doctor gave me 3 iv bags filled with water because apparently lots of times that will stop contractions if its not real labor. Not in my case! :) They never stopped.
They told us around 5 am that we would be getting an early Christmas present and would have our little girl by c-section at 7:30 am! I can't tell you the rush of emotions that went flying though my mind! First of all, TOMORROW is CHRISTMAS!!! I have a 3 and 4 year old that have been talking about Santa since October!!! We were all supposed to meet to open gifts at Jordan's parents that night, then with my family Christmas day.... all of that was now out of the picture. I was sad, but at the same time filled with total and complete joy. I was fixing to have the best Christmas present ever!!!
And I did. Kendall arrived perfect and healthy at 7:45 am! She was beautiful and she looked just like Riley (still does!). They ended up having to put me completely under during the c-section because my spinal block didn't work.
Seriously.
So this is a picture of me the fist time I saw Kendall... I was VERY heavily medicated! :)
Riley and Jace were the very fist ones to hold Kendall of all the family- they were so proud wearing their "Big Brother" and "Big Sister" t-shirts that we made!
I will stop the longest post ever now, and just leave you with a little cliffhanger.
Tomorrow (or sometime within the next month) I will write Part 2 of this post, and tell you why, during the following week, I was praying to God to come back and take us all home to Heaven where there is no darkness, no crying, and no HEADACHES!!!!
And a big thank you and pat on the back to everyone who read this post in its entirety.
Holy Moly, there are a lot of words on here!! :):)

Oh my, where to start! I love hearing birthday stories. Everyone is so unique and I just think it's the greatest. One day Kendall well get to read this - so special! First I was like OMG the picture with the little red bow on her head is my favorite, then I saw the one of your first time to see her - ok, that was my favorite. THEN the excitement on little Riley's face while holding Kendall - TOTALLY my favorite, oh but wait look at JACE!!! So yeah, I love them all!!! And little Kendall is just as beautiful as can be! She is perfect :) I can't believe she came on Christmas Eve - haha, that's just how it goes... never how we plan! Ok, before I use another exclamation mark in this, the longest comment ever, I'm going to bring this to a close.
And yes, that lens is suppose to take incredible close up shots. We'll see if I can even figure out how to get it on my camera... :)
