Mother's Day & A Teeth Alignment Lesson

Mother's Day, a time to rest and enjoy the moment while being pampered and doted on by your family.  My Mother's Day rocked!!!!  Well, everything but the part where there is blood spilling from Riley's mouth and  a tooth knocked almost completely backwards!!  Read on my friend.

Let me start with the good part- I woke up sunday morning to my sweet hubby making breakfast for me, cards from everyone, a really special can that Riley made for me at school which "I can put anything I want to in", a blue kid-picked bracelet, a hand-painted coffee mug that says "I Love MOM" by Jace and Daddy, a hand-painted ceramic puppy dog from Riley, AND.... last but not least, a mall giftcard (yay!)!!!  I will be posting pics of the mug and the puppy dog, but they had to leave them at the ceramic store so they can put them in the fire and glaze them, ect...  Oh, then after church, I got to pick the where we should go eat... duh, CASA OLE (in the mall!)!!! :):)  So, sounds like I had the perfect day, right!!??  I did, until that evening.

We went over to Mike and Sharon's to celebrate Mother's Day with them- we brought our huge waterslide over to add to the blow-up pools already in their front yard for all the little ones to play in.  This definitely completed the white-trash look. :)  So Jordan decides to go down the slide (this is a HUGE slide, not a little kiddie one) and thinks Riley is on the ground watching him climb up the back wall.  Really, she is climbing right behind him.  He gets to the top and decides to go belly first, kicking up his feet and jumping for it.  Thats when it happened.

Poor Riley got kicked right in the face by size 14 feet!  She held on tight though, and didn't fall off the back of the slide, but came over the top with blood dripping from her chin.  I'm not sure, but I think Jordan was in more pain than she was during this whole ordeal- I thought his heart was going to break right in half. :(  Anyway, we get her inside, look in her mouth, and one of her gorgeous front teeth is knocked backwards and completely out of line with the rest.  Is it horrible that one of the first things i thought of is that Riley is going to be the flower girl for two weddings in the next 3 weekends or so!!???  Yes, it is.

We called her pediatric dentist and he gave me thorough instructions on how to pop it back in to place!  Seriously.  I thought this was never going to happen.  Riley gets a splinter and she goes ballistic- the thought of moving her tooth just wasn't flying.  BUT, to her credit, she did AWESOME!!! No tears (I think she was in shock)!!!!!  Jordan did it and it just went right back to the spot it was supposed to be in- it went home!!!!  She was thrilled and starting running and jumping everywhere- and of course we were all like "Riley, be careful and don't hit your mouth!!".  I think I said that at least 100 times.

This morning I took her to the dentist to get x-rays, and it turns out that BOTH of her front teeth have hairline fractures, but it really shouldn't be a problem.  They should fall out in the next couple of years anyway, and baby tooth evidently have no relationship to permanent teeth- so those should be just great!!! Really I am just so relieved that they are in the right place- all nice and in a row- perfect for wedding pictures!!! :):)

It was a very eventful Mother's Day for sure!!!  If anyone would like further instructions about do-it-yourself teeth alignment, just let me know!!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day too!!!
